Justin Powers

Contract Military Justice Investigator

Justin Powers

Justin is a proud member of Capovilla and Williams’ Military Justice Division, where he utilizes the skills he developed as a Special Investigator for the Air Force’s Office of Special Investigations. He is a level-headed, hardworking, and dedicated investigator for our clients at Capovilla and Williams, and he is directly responsible for some of the firm’s most impressive litigation victories.

As a Special Agent, Justin conducted thorough investigations into criminal activities, fraud, and counterintelligence, addressing threats to national security, federal law, military law, and breaches of military regulations. He led investigation teams on high-profile cases and coordinated with multiple federal agencies, including the FBI and DHS.

John was also responsible for felony criminal investigations and foreign counterintelligence operations worldwide. His cases included homicides, assaults (including sexual assaults and child sex abuse), computer crimes, money laundering, financial crimes, fraud, bid-rigging, larceny, forgery, and drug offenses/suppression operations.

Additionally, Justin served as an expert witness in several court-martial proceedings, providing testimony on complex and diverse aspects of military law. Today, he is committed to uncovering the truth and helping our clients defend themselves against unfounded allegations that threaten their freedom, careers, and futures. He is one of the key reasons Capovilla and Williams is recognized as the best military justice law firm in the nation and has played a significant role in many of the firm’s impressive victories.

“I joined Capovilla and Williams after serving as a Special Agent with the OSI because I wanted to help our service members in need. I witnessed firsthand how unfair and unjust our system can be. I saw Airmen being railroaded by the system and Area Defense Offices that were overworked, often with little to no resources. I couldn’t help but think that what I observed was not right. The team at Capovilla and Williams fights hard every day for their clients; we all work together toward a common goal, and I believe we are making a positive impact on lives. It’s an honor to be here and to be part of this mission.”
