Attorney Brad Simon began his military service in the JAG Corps at Schriever AFB, where he quickly distinguished himself by earning the title of #1 JAG in his legal office for three consecutive evaluations. He was selected as one of the youngest Area Defense Counsels in Air Force history, serving in the busiest criminal defense office at Lackland AFB. Throughout his active-duty career, Brad consistently demonstrated his dedication to excellence both in and out of the courtroom. His remarkable accomplishments include being named the #1 Area Defense Counsel in the entire Air Force and receiving the honor of Company Grade Officer of the Year in 2021. Attorney Lacey Parham, a former Air Force prosecutor and defense attorney, brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to our team. Graduating 3rd out of 144 students from Brandeis Law School at the University of Louisville, she has proven her remarkable ability to secure favorable outcomes. While serving as an Area Defense Counsel at Scott Air Force Base, Lacey achieved an outstanding 92% success rate for over 500 clients across a wide array of cases. Her meticulous approach to litigation preparation, which includes thorough investigations and insightful pretrial interviews, places her among the top 10% of military defense counsel worldwide. Paralegal Libby Kehr is a retired non-commissioned officer from the Air Force, where she spent 20 years handling legal actions as a senior paralegal. Libby brings a wealth of legal experience to the Federal Employment and Military Justice teams at Capovilla and Williams. During her time as an active-duty paralegal, she held various positions, including First Sergeant, Special Victims’ Paralegal, Military Justice Paralegal, Civil Law Paralegal, Federal Employment Paralegal, and Law Office Superintendent. In her role as Law Office Superintendent, she briefed high-level officials, including the Secretary of the Air Force.
Investigator Justin Powers is a former Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, where he conducted thorough investigations into criminal activities, sexual assault, fraud, and counterintelligence, addressing threats to national security, federal law, military law, and breaches of military regulations. He led investigation teams on high-profile cases and coordinated with multiple federal agencies, including the FBI and DHS. Justin is now a full-time member of Capovilla & Williams, where he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the cases he works on. Our investigators play a pivotal role in our success.
