George Yates

Attorney George Yates embodies strength, talent, and experience at Capovilla and Williams, fueled by his distinguished service as a former Army Judge Advocate and Officer. A proud graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University, where he also served as Student Council President, George exemplifies leadership and unwavering dedication. After earning his undergraduate degree, he commissioned as an Officer in the United States Army, taking on roles as a Transportation Maintenance Officer in Korea and an Executive Officer and platoon leader at Fort Lee, Virginia. Selected for the prestigious Funded Legal Education Program, he transformed his aspiration to become a lawyer into a reality.

Graduating from The George Washington School of Law, George bravely commenced his journey with the United States Army JAG Corps. As a JAG Officer at Fort Hood, Texas, he shone as the Brigade Judge Advocate for the 89th Military Police Brigade, bringing invaluable insight to complex criminal investigations, administrative separations, and equal opportunity matters while tackling intricate military justice cases with skill and determination.

After his assignment at Fort Cavazos, George continued to leave an indelible mark as a Litigation Attorney for the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Here, he expertly advised high-level commanders on intricate legal matters, litigated numerous administrative separation boards, and played a pivotal role in several court-martial cases across the Division.

For his next endeavor, George took on the role of Litigation Attorney for the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Stewart. As Senior Legal Counsel to the commander, he provided comprehensive guidance on ethics, military justice, contract law, and fiscal law, all while nurturing a team of trial attorneys. George adeptly managed, organized, and prepared over 100 criminal and administrative cases, showcasing his commitment to excellence through collaboration with CID in developing investigation plans, securing search warrants, and preparing cases for court-martial.

Now, George stands as a devoted advocate for Service Members and Veterans nationwide. He routinely handles court-martials, separation boards, and administrative actions for clients around the globe. Recognized as one of the strongest, steadiest, and most articulate attorneys in the firm, George exemplifies resilience and dedication.
